Unbelievable bad luck I have. As you know I have been running my Z68 system until I get another board in. I hooked a heater up to the same circuit as my system unknowingly. After about 5 minutes of runnning I came back into the room and the Heater and my PC were both OFF!
I went and checked the Surge protector and the breaker on the surge protector was blown. I turned it back on,hit the power button on my Board
and LOOP DE LOOP. Changed Power supplies and no post code no boot!

That was my back up system! Now I have had two boards blow up in a week! One from Phase and the other from some force of electricity that my surge protector was supposed to stop! And if not that you would think that the PSU had some OVP in it to stop a surge from making it to the board!

Take my misfortune as a lesson, I have had my power go out on this system a few times, once from power being turned off when a renter moved upstairs. He called to have the power turned back into my name and BGE came and turned the power off while I was benching! NONE of that killled anything. Then Overloading the circuit KILLED IT while on a NEW surge protector! And a pretty good Surge protector as well!

Well, I just checked my shipment and my R4E will be here today!
So, if my luck is anything like it has been for the past week It will be dead by tomorrow mad.gifsmile.gifmad.gifsmile.gif (as mad as I am I can only laugh!)

Well, Just got the new Rampage 4E and NEW 3930k in ...... BAD!! AGAIN!!

I cant believe this!

thumb.gif <<<<Any chance that is a middle finger? I would like to flip off Intel AND Asus

And get this, Called Asus tech support. The tech, after telling me to hold on while he READS for 20 minutes comes back and says, " I am going to send you to Level 2 Tech Support," then hangs up the phone!!

So I called Newegg, Got an Advanced RMA, And tomorrow I am going to Micro Center to try and get another CPU. IF they are not out by now!

I had 2 Dead 3930k's 2 dead gigabyte boards, 1 dead Asus board. And my back up system die. ALL THIS WEEK!!

I did say with my luck it will be dead by tomorrow!

It actually went into the BIOS, Then I was looking to put my drives in Raid and the Board froze. Then a D0 Code on a New R4E that had been running exactly 3 minutes!!

New 3930K & R4E w/ 16 GB DDR3 2133MHz overclock, proof:

FLlEb.png

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2146505

Load voltage reads 1.448~1.456 V while running LinX. I previously had it stable at this speed with a bit less voltage but I changed the LLC setting and disabled C-States in setup after getting a 0x0124 blue screen error code at idle while browsing the web last night.

Its a bit humid in maryland but always has been.

I dont wear the strap because I think it isnt necessary anymore. Its used to be necessary but I think they have way better grounding technology now.
I mean these things used to be sensitive but they havent been that sensitive in years. I have a 2900XT card that is from 2006( i believe) and it has a cooler master water block on it. I hooked it up to a Corsair portable Nautalis cooler because I dont have an air cooler for it. That thing has been thrown around, put in boxes with stuff piled on it, DIRTY, beaten, dropped and all sorts of madness and it still works every time I throw it in a system. Its one tough card.

In 4 years I have built no less then 75 to 80 systems. Probably 20 of those were my own. And never once in all the overclocking i have done and systems I have sold have I ever got a bad motherboard or CPU. I'm not saying that I havnt had a CPU go bad, but its only been one or two. And maybe in all that time I have had 4 boards go bad. For this to happen I am blown away.
Its like I have spend 4 or 5k in the past month on computer parts that just keep going bad or come bad. Newegg has got to be beginning to think I just get them home and kick them across the room and send them back! This has been the absolute worst luck with any platform I have ever had. I am starting to think that Intel just released an unfinished platform. It was said that this platform was going to have so many more features then it does. And then in the last few weeks it all changed and sounded like the only new features are 8 mem slots(quad channel) PCIe3.0 which we dont even get to use until they release it in a New CPU. Because the ones we have now will not have PCIe unless there is an update or something they have planned in the Chipset drivers.

Im sort of pissed at this.
