Ladies and Gentlemen! Abeeftec has OFFICIALLY taken the crown of "WORST LUCK IN THE WORLD?" As he prepares for his 6th CPU and 5th motherboard at an attempt for a good one! We will find out shortly if he can take the crown for "WORST LUCK IN THE UNIVERSE!"biggrin.gif

You've GOT hear this! I have taken the "Worst Luck in the Universe title!!"

Good News and Bad news AGAIN!.....

I returned the UD7 Board a week ago and got a store credit (,When I RMAed the assassin2 I got a third 570) And because I didnt want to wait for a board, I ordered a New R4E the other day. And since i was
thinking maybe My PSU went bad or was causing issues I purchased a NEW Corsair AX1200 PSU. I had them both Next day aired at 50.00 and they were here in 19 hours from CALI to MD.

Hooked up the R4E yesterday with the corsair PSU and got into the BIOS and then the system locked up and wacked out and I called Newegg to RMA the R4E(they advanced RMAed it and one is currently on the way)

TODAY(not wanting to wait) I went to Microcenter and purchased 2 CPUS and a UD5 motherboard. Got home, Hooked it all up and got into the OS with my 2 OCZ Vert3 MaxIOPS.
Seemed fine UNTIL! On reboot, The raid array failed. Then, I wanted to load the Image again and the Chipset would not see my optical drive to load drivers. So, I restarted again and when I did
My New 570 Video cards fan went at 200% speed it seemed. SO I held the Power button down 5 seconds and turned off the PSU. Then I turned it off and back on... NOTHING!

DEAD NEW CORSAIR PSU That I bought with the DEAD R4E motherboard!!mad.gif

So I hooked up my old PSU and IT WORKED! So now I have to RMA my PSU too!!

What gives?! I opened a brand new account seperate from my other account with Newegg when X79 came out. Its been out a month now and I have purchased tons of stuff through that account already.
Only problem is, Everything ordered through that account has now been RMAed!
Unreal!

lol so I'm almost done setting up my new 3930k!

I just did the Asus low voltage auto overclock to see what this puppy can do... and to compare I had an i7 920 D0 at 4.4ghz... muwahaha I don't regret spending my money after seeing the difference! at my score im on like the #9 on passmark's computer benchmarks: http://www.passmark.com/baselines/top.html I doubled my last score! I'm running ssd raid 0 tho, so that added to the score quite abit. and more memory.

I'll probably just settle for a 4.7 or 4.8ghz OC tho. right now it's set to 4.98ghz on full auto OC. Prime95 for 5 minutes gave me 80-83C, so I stopped it since I haven't tweaked anything yet.

They are just as sensitive now as they were back then, the issue isn't the component itself its the tiny smaller ICs that make it work. Any over volt to them can fry the whole board. I would at least touch the metal of the case before touching the component. I always do and I never kill things unless overclocking. I mean it is worth it, isn't it? it only takes 1 in a thousand chance to break something. Of course things do come DOA, but at the rate you are getting them, its just frown.gif lol. I am sure your luck will turn up tho.

I mean i have nothing wrong with my two GB boards, they still work fine, and i have two CPus and they are chugging away. But i am super careful, because a lot of my stuff doesn't come in proper packaging i have to be. I am sure when you get your new R4E it will work! maybe your PSu is killing them? who knows

Order off amazon lol, BTW i got word that the UD7 is sold out in the US, the demand was higher than anticipated, so they will have more by end of this month. i guess you can leave it upto a company to forget people buy stuff during Christmas time lol.

Sad you have a broken AX1200, those usually never are messed up. Ever think maybe its one of your other devices? Like a short in a keyboard, or mouse, or GPU or somthing? lol

I have considered my keyboard, but a Keyboard Blowing up CPUS and Motherboard and PSUs over and over? Reason I have considered it the keyboard is because GOM player, VLC and 321 Media would run halfway through a show and then start going backwards for nothing all the way to the beginning on 2 comptuters now. Its a Razer OF COURSE. Sometimes the letters or numbers will stick and I have to yank the cord out. Or it just refuses to work sometimes. I bought another keyboard but it stopped working after a week so I just thought No way, and hooked the razer back up.

Get this, I have the UD5 set up right now and I didnt even try to overclock it at all to this point and was getting random frozen screens where i had to reboot. And then every 5 minutes last night the screen would freeze. So, I upped the voltage to 1.33v and turned off all speed stepping. I left the system on all night idling at the desktop(which is how it was freezing mostly) and it has not froze all night.
When it first started doing it I got a stress test for every component in the system and ran them all with no lock ups. I am baffled. But I am going to hook up the Rampage today and see if it is doing this sort of thing.

Also, My SSDs refuse to stay raided for more then two reboots after the OS is loaded. Then the array fails. They are both new SSDs and one of them is the result of an RMA not even a month ago! Something is blowing everything up which is why I thought it was the PSU and bought a new one. When the new PSU sizzled I was in disbelief.

EDIT: This is one hour later from making this post... I had a brand new Gigabyte keyboard sitting here in the box that I really dont like because the backspace key is small. I hooked it up and rebooted to get a non startup. I had to turn the system off and turn it back on just to boot. But the Freezes seem to be gone!!
I do have some bad luck and have for the past year. but it has always been other things and never hit me in the computer side of things. This is getting a bit ridiculous if I have to RMA the UD5 back to Microcenter now. I am afraid to update the Bios because of the random freezes, Sure they seem to be gone but I can see it showing me how wrong I am when trying to install a new Bios

Is there some sort of Competition I can win somewhere for most blowed up components while running stock speeds?doh.gif

IMO the UD5 needs BIOS work, the UD7 has a very decent BIOS now. BLCk with 1.25x multi was fixed, its actually very solid. Then the VRM they are still fine tuning with F4 they changed from gamer mode to normal mode, those are PWM modes from Chil, gamers=OC mode. I think its called gamer because CHil made their PWM tech for ASUS and ROG is gamer lol its stupid. NormaL Mode seems to have better LLC, actually perfect LLC, there is 2mv drop under load at 300W load on the UD7. Still BIOS work is needed for CPU OC.

BTW i have a GB keyboard AIVIA K8100, i like it a lot.

i just got this newer keyboard in today from thermaltake MEKA G-Unit, its pretty cool. its mechanical keyboard for gaming. Ever heard of it?

Well I just updated the Bios from F3 to F5 and the first thing I noticed is my temps went from mid and low 20s to mid to low 30s right after the update. Quite possibly there was a voltage regulation issue with that first Bios. OR ot was freezing up because of the Razer keyboard. I switched to the backup bios and did not change any settings and had no freeze ups before changing the Bios
So I switched back to the primary bios and did not get any either after loading optimized defaults to set my voltage to auto again.
The only thing that is different now is that I am using the Gigabyte keyboard and not the Razer. I half want to hook the razer keyboard back up and see if it locks up
but now I have a newer bios installed so it may not. Maybe F3 couldnt handle it.
I am about to hook up the R4E and see how the new one runs since I never got a chance to check it out from the first one.

One thing I dont like about the UD5 is no aux power for PCie lanes for 3x SLI.

I do like the Gigabyte keyboard but I use the backspace a lot! Even though I type really fast I backspace really fast too and I keep missing backspace!
I have heard of the thermaltake Keyboard and read up on it a bit, So many keyboards so little time! Are the keys on the board low profile? I cant tell by the pics
