I watch the forums more then I post in them and have tried to keep up with records and in previous Chipset generations he would always get right under the WR(which was always done on LN2) with Phase so at one point I was practically begging him to use LN2! But he was never interested in proving anything to anyone.
I think with this Generation Phase is just as good as LN2. And I even said that a few weeks ago. And it seems it is proving true. I said it right after getting 5.4Ghz on Phase on this thread and actually posting at 5.6ghz the night my board burned up. I did that with all 6 cores and my voltage was still low so it had more headroom. Funny thing is my current board runs better with all 6 cores then it does with 2! Its a damn shame that my UD7 board and CPU blew up because I may have been able to get higher then 5.6 even with all 6 cores. I am going to try again once I figure out the best plan of attack to the insultating issue I have on why boards have blown up on me.
But yes! T&B is one of the best there is bar none. I think it has something to do with the CPU but it is also 1 part MSI board and 2 parts T&B!

Intel should have to provide a phase w/ the x79 instead of a poor closed loop cooler biggrin.gif

I'm pretty sure that the UD7 can push it, especially when you see to where it was pushed with a simple UD3 on LN2.

I have both the UD5 & UD7 and in testing the boards the MSI still was smoother and easier to OC, But I will attempt again on the UD7 to get some good results and see just what the board will do.

LN2 dosent really give anyone an edge as there is a point of no return on these chippers! They hate COLD below -60c to -70c so anything below that is a waste of time you can pour your wallet out!

I just think the Mobo and Chip combo with a few easy settings is the trick which in this case makes the top of the line BIG BUCK boards almost not worth it. Will bios help HELL YEAH but not as much as you think.

This is just my opinon after testing the MSI, Asrock and Gigabyte boards with the same 3930k:blinksmil

Turn & Burn, do all the memory channel works in your MSI Big Bang2? Is the board solidly built? I'm planning of getting this board, but no full waterblock for the board. Can a fan directly blowing to the VRMs handle the OC or it really gets hot? What BIOS version are you using?
Sorry for the many questions! TIA! Great OC!

I havn't tried the BB2 yet thats next,

I will say this I think all the MSI boards are built solid so far as I can tell and the VRM's not a issue, Memory not a issue. I do know there still working the BB2 as well bios ect. but should be rock solid!!

I had 16GB doing the WR unheard of most of the others had 1GB or 2GB.

Will be posting more as things progress but for now I loaded my other chipper going to give it a whirl thumb.gif

I say its a 50 / 50 chip & components / user as i could give this chip o 10 ppl and get 10 different results of course if the components wont work it dont matter

just like if the user cant figure out what the components need to make it work it wont matter.

I put this chip on 3 different Mobo makers and not Asus hehe but the MSI board by far surpassed the rest way more stable and easy to work with!

Thanks

T&B

Just upped it a bit for now

380

and second place for the 3930k SuperPI

532

Thanks

Hi chaps after a long struggle and endless days of waiting I am ready to join!
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2209984
No fancy overclock yet. I just got it today and am still doing BIOS update, driver and software installation.

Dear OverK1LL, I will fill out that spreadsheet, as soon as I have a proper overclock.
I just wanted to say wheee.gifwheee.gifwheee.gif finally after two month of waiting I have the CPU to request membership to this honorable society. grouphug.gif

Edit: I had a quick look at the validation of the others. Looks I am the first with the "7" stepping tongue.gif
