If anyone knows why my ram speed shows so high in CPU-Z I would like to know - best guess so far is from Mr. Eiht that it could be a MB glitch of some kind.

I have tried lots of different ram and messing with every setting I could find.

Is your CPU retail or ES?

Have you tried validating while you have a load on the cpu? I used Heaven 2.5 and it put a load on my cpu and gpu, then I ran cpu-z validation and it worked.

Must be something to do with the power saving features.

Yes - I put it under full load any time I try validating

Yes I do. You see, every new version they have to add the specifics of current CPUs in the market, so the program will categorize information correctly. Take a look at 1.59:
Quote:
AMD Opteron Interlagos and Valencia (Bulldozer).
AMD SR56x0 I/O bridge and SP5100 southbridge (Maranello).
Intel Core i7-3960X, 3930K and 3820 (SandyBridge-E).
Intel X79 chipset (Patsburg).
VIA Nano 1000/2000/3000, Eden X2, Nano X2/X3, QuadCore.
Support for Windows 8.

Only, your CPU does not fit exactly the retail specs, therefore miseading seems likely. Someone with more tech knowledge will likely appear shortly, but... I think it's reasonable.

That sounds like a good explanation. I noticed that for stepping it shows "5" and revision shows "C0". All other CPU-Z results I have seen show stepping at "6", and revision is usually blank.

So if I can't get a CPU-Z to give me a proper validation, is there something else I could post to get my OC recorded in the leaderboard/owner's club?

Well, contact the OP. I think you'll be able to reach an agreement. People here seem really nice.

All in all, an ES is a sandy-e, and we owe the retail versions to them... I don't see why not. I even think ES to be kind of cool =D

Thread Starter

Personally, I think ES chips should be included.

I think a screenshot showing a burn-in/stress test as well as CPU-Z and HW Monitor should be enough to allow placement on the leaderboard.

To prevent just anyone claiming their chip is an ES I think a picture of the heatspreader (to show ES stamp) with a post-it note containing the user's name should be required. I know that might be a pain for you vonalka since your system is assembled, but I just want to keep this as fair as possible.

As long as no one disagrees I see no problem posting ES chips with the proper credentials. If a member does disagree you can either post it or PM me.
