i wouldnt say the 980x would make a difference, if there is proof that it really does and its not something negated by an extra 10-20mhz i will surely get one;) but first i want to learn a few things on the 3930k so if i kill it or degrade it its a lesser punch in the stones;)

what sort of temps is everyone running and what sort of Vcore!? would be nice to add that to list

ie average highest P95 temp across all cores

and
add a Vcore list to spreadsheet?!

also prices in UK on 19/11/2011 are as follows

Core i7 Extreme 3980X 6core 12threads 3.40-3.50Ghz 4.00-4.10Ghz no price as yet

Core i7 Extreme 3960X 6core 12threads 3.30GHz turbos to -3.90GHz Unlocked 15MB of L3 £799.99

Core i7 3930K 6core 12threads 3.20GHz turbo-3.80GHz Unlocked 12MB of L2 £431.99

so diffrence is 100MHZ and 3mb of L2 cache!?!?? so for £370 you get 3mb and 100mhz!!? where is the point!

advantage of normal socket 1155 sandy bridge?????

is there any need to upgrade or was this intels backup incase bulldozer actually worked?!

Finished swapping motherboards, processor, and redoing my loop. Just for giggles I booted directly into the "Extreme OC" profile:

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2105446

She booted up perfectly with no problems! The vcore on these boxed overclock profiles are very very high...I'm going to tweak from here. Temps are around 40-45c at normal operating, medium settings on H100.

So far, I'm pretty impressed.

Anyone know which link it is to post the Screeners so that it enlarges without going to Photobucket? Seems everyone is using the same link and I am using the wrong one because when I click on my screen shot link it takes me to photobucket.
