On a totally unrelated note, I can't install my video drivers because when I do, booting to Windows fails with a Atikmpag.sys BSOD. mad.gif

Thats odd my 3930k under a H100 will run 39C at stock.

EDIT: that is with P95 running and amients around 70F and it idles at about 25C

sounds like your drivers were a bad copy try re-installing windows then download the drivers fresh from the manufactures website.

Already have. Same ****. It runs fine if I boot to Safe Mode, or if I uninstall the drivers and boot normally. But obviously that's no good. redface.gif

I'm using the thermal compound that was pre-applied to the H100... I forgot I left my rubbing alcohol at work so I couldn't remove it. Still, that's over a 10 degree difference...

i am too i don't even own any compound right now so i was forced to do it

also my 3930k runs at about that temp OCed to 4.5GHz with 1.28V running her
