Will OCing a single 6950 2gb increase fps much in BF3

Thread Starter
I have an i5-2500K currently at 4.5GHz, ordering BF3 today, for 1080p what can I expect, I want at least 40fps on high or ultra, is that possible

I can defenitely hit 900/1450 at stock volts, is there much to be gained from OCing, I'll find out, but just asking

I have a Phenom 920 and an MSI TFIII 6950 @ 900-940 core and I still get 50-60FPS on High (textures Ultra) with no AA. 1080p.

So to answer your question I would say you'll be fine. You may not even have to OC. My processor sucks. I'm bottlenecking it as it is.

probably won't gain anything, but your min. frame rate might go up a bit. I would just go for some mild OC's since most cards can hand a bump of ~35-50mhz without any problems. that way you're not pushing your card for no reason, but rather running it at a modest OC for slight improvements.

I have a 2GB 6950, slight OC at 840/1325 and getting usually 40-45 fps on 1080p Ultra settings. Sometimes on the low end 35. Which is playable to me. On High settings I get about 50-55 fps. I just leave it on Ultra, works for me.

I might just CF one day to just exceed my monitors refresh rate, possibly when I upgrade to SB. GL!
