Hello,

I need to buy some ram and I was tossing up between the Low profile vengeance and the normal vengeance.

They are both clocked at 1600Mhz and are both 8gb modules (2x4gb sticks).

Is there really a difference in performance or is it just the heat spreader?

It is just the LP is much shorter in height, as the normal Vengeance were 55mm tall. Both are 99% Identical just one is shorter. When I was doing my upgrade from C2D to 2500k I had my Vengeance sticks in the far left 2 slots with my NHC14 xD. Decided to find the LP but had to be ordered and I needed my rig going so I just picked up XMS3's and undervolted them.

I believe the LP ones are 3826mm high.

So should I go for the non low profile ones because I am using the H100?

If you reckon it looks better than go for it! The LP ones are made just for Air HSF's that cover RAM slots, or there 1.35v spec ones for benchers.

If you are using the H100/H80 style coolers you are going to be fine with any RAM. If you are planning to attach a D14/Silver Arrow cooler, I would get the Low profile RAM, personally I would get the Ripjaws
