Screw that. Consoles can have this garbage that they still release. I would love to resell my copies of mw2 and black ops. Modern warfare is the only cod that belongs in my drawer of games. Settling for something is not always the best choice. PC gamers have and most likely will buy something else if games don't meet their standards, and yes PC gamers are picky. We have a right to be although, we do have to settle somewhat, but definitely not this low on the chain.

"but what about the enthusiast gamers who spend £500-£600 on a new HD6990 or GTX 590?"
They should **** and just enjoy playing the game on max settings. How is this in any way a valid criticism? "Oh no, my friend who didn't waste a ridiculous amount of money on a computer can run the game just as well as me!". Games are made for people to play, not to give you an excuse to waste your money.

But at the same time, it shouldn't look like a game from 2007. If BF3 looked like BF2, then I bet every single person (BF fan or otherwise) would've been QQing and CoD fans would've been saying how it looks like crap and all the rest of it, but when it comes to CoD, "graphics don't matter". Ok fair enough, but they are so lazy that even the HUD and a lot of assets in maps are the same as the previous game. Same gun models, sounds are shared between many guns, iron sights, etc etc..

BF3 isn't anything revolutionary but CoD is very far from it. Plus, this is the reviewers opinion.. and how can they enjoy playing the game on max settings when it still looks like crap? wink.gif

To be completely honest, bf2 wasn't that graphically appealing when new.

i think the majority of those user reviews on metacritic were written by people who never even played the game.

Let's be honest, it doesn't look like crap does it? It looks fine, it might not have as many textures per square inch (or what ever the unit of measurement is) as some other games but it still looks fine.

What about skyrim then, that's a straight up console port as well. If the graphics in that game looked like Fallout 3 then would it get any worse in reviews? I don't think so. But that's a different matter, since MW3's gameplay just isn't as good as before due to the new killstreak and other changes.

bf2 came out almost 6 1/2 years ago. bf2 fans *****ed about bc/bc2. It's taken dice a very long time to make bf fans happy, so really I find it funny that dice lovers explode out of the woodworks like they've been doing it right all along.
