Subject: Fw: $Fatal1ty 990FX Professional$ Clarification on LLC BIOS option
James,
About the question of CPU Load-line calibration, please kindly refer to below diagram.

It's controlled by PWM, Vcore can be adjusted automatically according to the loading.
If you set CPU Load-line Calibration to [100%], Vcore will decrease quickly when loading is increased.
This option default setting is [Auto], Auto setting is as below.
1. According to AMD's suggestions, we set LLC = 100% when installing AM3+ CPU.
2. When installing AM3 CPU, we set LLC = 50%
3. When adjust "Overclock Mode" or "Multiplier/ Voltage change" to [Manaul], we set Load-line Calibration to [0%].
If any question, please kindly contact me.
ASRock America Support,
Eric Lin
So for everyday use on Bulldozer, 100% is recommended, but if you decided to overclock, set it to 0%. I will try these settings out soon and update this post.
LLC Update 1:
I tried LLC set to Disabled, Windows won't boot at 4.6 GHz @ 1.45 V. At 25% it boots, but black-screens 5 seconds into Prime95. At 75% or 100% LLC, doesn't crash in Prime95 or IBT, but crashes half way through 3DMark11 Physics test. at 50%, works perfectly fine :/
