Difference between "Asus Maximus IV Extreme" and the Extreme-Z

Thread Starter
Hi,

I'm just about to buy a new mobo and cpu, but since i'm kinda new to intel my knowlage is lacking :<<br /> So I wanted to get the Extreme-Z but it seems that the normal Extreme is a bit cheaper and can be delivered on the next day.
Obviously I'm wondering what the difference is.
Can't really find any drastic difference.

You guys know if there's a big difference?

thanks for your time smile.gif

EDIT: Ok so I totally overlooked the chipset, I'm an idiot -_-

Yup, the Extreme-Z is for the Z68 platform while the Extreme is for the P67 platform tongue.gif

The Extreme-Z with the Z68 chipset just adds a couple of new features that you may or may not be interested in like SSD caching and Quick Sync, you can Google those features to see what they are. Other than that the two boards are exactly the same.
