I know, I'm being a jerk, but ya should have got a toxic smile.gif

Thanks a lot sir! biggrin.gif

I flashed it. Unfortunately the result is the same as when using the smaller .t44 file that was posted in the other thread: Unbootable due to graphic bugs. Damn! Now I'm stumped. Very annoying as it seems the cards are almost identical. Sapphire sure knows it's business....

I think we just have to wait and see if future releases of afterburner, trixx or CCC give us the possibility to raise the voltages above 1,18v. >.<</div>

That sucks. so you got a sapphire 6950 and it wont flash? can you link the card you got?

It flashes fine but doesn't work properly with this BIOS. The only one's working so far are some from MSI & Powercolor. The problem is that they allow me to raise my clocks to 1300/1600 (not that I would go that high...^^) but the voltages still remain unchangeable. Asus' BIOS gives me similar bugs as the one you posted. My card's the 2GB Dirt3 Edition (lite retail). smile.gif

It's sad because apart from the voltage-problem I'm really happy with it. Unlocks fine, has a nice cooler, high clocks possible... okay I'd prefer a black PCB but that's just aesthetics... tongue.gif

im pushing 1080mhz for benching at 1.366v on my 6950.. thats on water...these cores start hitting 'walls' over 1ghz core speed and required larger amounts of voltage to scale core speeds typically.

ie- GPU is fully stable..gaming and benching, 1920x1080, 4x AA, 8x AF.. @ 1000mhz, 1.23v

-1020mhz core fully stable = 1.3v

-1050mhz core fully stable = 1.33v

-1080mhz core for benching = 1.36v

...the core is only hitting ~41-43c on full load.. but with these speeds, the voltage required to run - also requires the core to be colder to do so. Core voltage can stay at 1.36v if I drop temps another 15c on load... and I can add another 20mhz in core speed without issue.

**That in mind - I think your pursuit of 1.3ghz is a pipe dream.. you'll never reach 1.1ghz without 0c cooling.

As stated I don't even want to go that high. I'm well aware that I won't even reach 1050mhz. I just wanted to point out that with a BIOS from another manufacturer I'm able to change/increase my clock options but not the voltages. I run my 1000mhz at 1,18v in benches. To get it stable in games I believe I need the 1,23-1,25v you mentioned. That's the only thing I was hoping to be able to get by flashing the TOXIC-BIOS. wink.gif

You may have to force flash with all of the protection flags [if you didnt already].. Or try editing your BIOS and using "hash1 method" to set your card type as 6970.. this should allow for more voltage [not sure if Sapphire uses the same cap for 6950/6970 ..would be pretty stupid if they did though].

*Theres always 'hard mods' ... you could set 1.6v manually if wanted too ;)

Haha yeah I already did the force flash. It doesn't let me flash the BIOS without it. biggrin.gif

I think the hash1 method would be a possibility but I'm a bit afraid of it. Let alone using any "hard mods". To be honest I'm not quite sure what a "hard mod" is... if it has something to do with brazing/soldering then: Noty... tongue.gif

That's a nice card, mine hits the wall at 930mhz with 1.18v...hence my quest for more voltage. It seems crazy to limit them to just a hair above stock 6970 voltage especially with the awesome cooler that's on the card grrr

Anyway I guess I should be happy with it, I only paid for a 6950 and then unlocked it. thumb.gif
