I play BF3 and skyrim mainly on my rig right now, I can get average 60-75 fps on maxed out on BF3, with everything maxed on skyrim in cities and sometimes in certain areas outdoors i get like 20fps, which is odd because Battlefield destroys skyrim in graphics. Now i know alot of people say its CPU heavy like oblivion was, but when i look at my charts, im only pushing half load on my CPU.
So i downloaded the new drivers and installed them, ran them.. a little better, but turn off a graphics card if your in CF i went up another 35-40 fps I just don't think they have utilized skyrim and CF yet..
hope this helps happy dragon slaying!thumb.gif

Its because it only uses 2 CORES.... 50% is 100% for the game..... as your CPU is a quad core. Thats why ppl say CPU Heavy but really its becasue its limited to 2 cores when most ppl on this site have 4 at least.

Was gonna say I get a stable 45 - 60 FPS and no lower on my i3 @4.2ghz and Overclocked 6850 1Gb. Runs like a dream on Ultra with the view distance turned down a tad!

Yep its the damn slow Phenom's....my next upgrade will be to intel unless something changes in the near future.....

Edit: With my 6950 on Ultra with 8xAA and 16xAF and a bunch of graphics tweaks and mods I still only get MAX 85% GPU usage....usually around 65%

Thats how much my Phenom II 3.5GHZ bottlenecks my 6950. (Damn game only programed for 2 threads,,,,)

My 5770's are not worth a crap when in CF on Skyrim either. Turn off CF and it goes up by a lot. I get a good 40-60 depending on where I am and looking at with one 5770 with most everything on high and FXAA enabled, no normal AA and 16x AF. Could be my 2600K pushing it that much higher compared to your CPU as well. I do dip into the 30's in some parts, like outside looking into the far distance, but it is rare. I'd say I average 45 outdoors and more like 55-60 indoors.

Thread Starter
Just updated to the newest AMD drivers that came out yesterday. I still am getting only around 35/40 average fps outdoors when not running CF. Still seems really low :/ I would see min FPS of around 20 if there was a lot going on. I dont feel like my CPU could be holding me back. I guess I'll just wait for the new AMD CF profiles to come out and see if that makes a difference.

Id say its rare that I stay about 40 FPS in the game not running crossfire.
