Upgrade or Switch?

So I'm thinking about juicing up my sig rig and pumping it up to do both video and photo editing (should be getting a new DSLR early Spring). I most likely will be using AVID Media Composer, Adobe CS5.5 Premiere Pro and Photoshop. So my question is, should I upgrade the processor to AMD's Phenom II 1090T or jump the gun and completely switch to Intel.

Here's an article from Tom's Hardware. Sure its about AMD latest FX processor, but it does give a decent view IMO for AMDs former hexacore.

Anyways, I also did plan on upgrading my graphics card sometime later to maybe a GTX 560-Ti. So I don't know which one to go with. The Intel route seems more expensive due to me having to buy a new processor, motherboard, ssd (since hard drives are rather expensive right now), and a new Windows 7/8 License.

What do you guys think?

If you have the money switch to intel. If you are short on cash then a 1090t is the way to go. As much as I hate to admit it, and others will agree intel is where the performance is currently.

Either wait for IB or upgrade to 2600k, AMD is so behind right now its not even funny. You would be wasting your time and money investing in their CPUs right now. I wish it was different but its true, they cannot compete with Intel.... even first gen i7 Intel they are getting trumped.
