I know the DX is highly recommended but since you need a PCI 1x the Asus Xonar D1 is the PCI x1 version of it. Otherwise for a cheaper route, even a Xonar DG or DS is also good.

nice find...i personally don't mind the color...as long as they perform well...and I'm sure they do since it's sennheiser

i wish sennheiser has more closed end headphones on the higher tier...because i'm looking for closed end headphones...i tried open and its cool and all...but picks up way too much ambient for my taste

oh yeah i would need a pci-e sound card too...pci just won't fit with the setup i'm running right now

Considering the HD555's I was going to buy went up to $155, this almost forces me to get the HD598's. I actually like the color scheme.

The DX doesn't actually have a headphone amp in it AFAIK, so unless you already have one I think the DG would be by far the best option for the price.
