Given Away: Headphone Boom Mic Mod Kit - Everything you Need!!

Thread Starter
In the interest of getting people into modding, I thought I would throw up a kit for modding your quality heaphones with a boom mic. If you are unsure how to do this, you are more than welcome to follow the guide I did... or the countless others around the net (see my sig for thread). I will ship this anywhere in the world on my dime.

so here is what you will get in this kit (all parts are new):

1. 1 flexible boom mic (tested working)
2. 1 15 ft. M/F 3.5mm audio cable
3. 1 flush mount 3.5mm audio jack (plug-in connector)
4. 1 solder 3.5mm audio jack (solder connector)
5. 2 Neutrik 3.5mm nickel stereo plugs

506

This kit gives you options - you can either solder in the audio cable with the solder jack and then use the factory male tip to plug into your sound card OR you can use the flush mount plug to connect the audio cable and then solder in a Neutrik nickel connector for some bling at your sound card... either way, you are covered. I am not including sleeving, because that is your chance to customize it how you want. This is a fairly basic mod that the beginner can handle with a little bit of soldering experience. My mic has been working great in BF3 and SC2 over both vent and skype, plus the mic disconnects nice and neat when you aren't gaming.

Requirements:

1. member for at least 3 months
2. minimum 10 rep
3. have a current use for the mod (tell me the model of headphones you are planning to mod with them)

I will do a random number drawing Sunday night 11/20/11 at 9pm PST. Good luck, and keep the freebies going.

edit: This kit was put together with multiple ebay auctions to spec out the parts individually... based on what I have seen in mod builds.

Winner Chosen: Entry #20 kpnamja, sending PM.

I've always been interesting in this and have also previously asked another member on the board who used to offer this service to do my headphone but he has stopped a long time ago. I will be doing this to an Audio Technica ATH-M50. Even if I weren't the one to win this I would like to ask the model numbers or online store URLs for the items so I could attempt this regardless.

I have a set of JVC HARX-700s that could use this. I've got some background in audio equipment so I'd probably end up flush-mounting a female jack inside one of the cavities, re-cabling the whole headphones with a four conductor cable, and hard wiring the female jack into the new cable.

This kit looks really cool. Can you link to where I could find one?

I could really use this, a good head set is expensive. I know im going to get some good headphones for Christmas. I dont want to ask for a head set because I know the good ones are really expensive. I would rather have quality audio.
