Do I need a Sound Card?

Hey folks

I currently have the rig in my signature. I only play games and rarely listen to music and never watch movies.

And I have a Edifier M3200 2+1 speaker system

Do i really need a soundcard for better sound? or does my onboard soundcard with my speaker will be the best that I can get?

And how do you guys feel about the creative sound blaster play usb?

Thank you in advance.

Nope. In your case, it wont be worth it.

What you will get though is a good volume boost, but quality of sound probably wont be that much noticeable.
If you find your speakers too soft, like I did before. The soundcard is a good buy.

I would only recommend the USB soundcard for laptops user looking to output to better speakers & headphones, for normal desktop users, a Xonar DG/DX will be the best bet, so are Creative cards which are more for gaming.

Thats what i thought.

I believe sound cards are for 5+1 setups and huge speakers.

Well I have a Harman Kardon in my living room with my 3Dtv but for my gaming i am probably better of with what i have now.

Not that I have bad audio but just wanted to know.

Thanks.
