Im still opting for the bridge.
When i removed the bridge from mine (doing the diagnostics for you), i did a driver clean, then pulled the bridge, then let windows find the drivers... thats when i noticed no "SLI" option.
To get the SLI option back, I had to reinstall the bridge, do another driver sweep (in safe mode of course), then booted up and installed the most recent beta drivers from Nvidia (the BF3 drivers) and then rebooted. Everything worked fine after that.
Heres a link to the drivers i used.
