So there is no way they didn't get past months ago.

Apple -> Single company
Android -> OS made by Google, phones made by multiple companies

You just can't compare both!
And yeah, your numbers are wrong, google it!

EDIT: didn't Apple said the iPhone 4S launch was the most sucessful in their history?

It is Apple's fault that they don't allow other companies to build phones that run iOS.

What a lame thing to do. I prefer the iPhone for several reasons, and have no problem recommending both Android and iOS depending on the user's needs.

You know there is reasoning behind that right? By controlling the hardware and software, you have total control over the quality of the user experience and can create a more efficient and bug free product. Look at Android on the new Kindle Fire and it's responsiveness issues. It also keeps the product line slim enough to support older phones for longer periods of time. Even the old 3GS can run iOS 5. How many two year old Android phones are running Ice Creme Sandwich?

Apple's own number. The number announced by Steve Jobs aka the CEO that has to be the true number or he could be sued by investors. Its maybe 150 million now, but I know their bast quarter has been 20 million iPhone's sold. Oh yeah and FYI, Samsung by itself is selling more phones then Apple.

Droid runs Gingerbread, November 2009. It made the Droid faster. Not to mention it probably will get Ice Cream Sandwich. Nexus One is nearly 2 years old and will be getting ICS too.

You can't compare 'Android activations' to 'iPhone's sold.'

You would need to compare Apple to other manufacturers of Android phones such as Samsung and HTC, ect.

Even then, the only real comparison would be 'premium' Android phones in my opinion as a comparison between $50 Android phone sales against a $500 iPhone is completely useless.

Too bad the number of android activations has been to the detriment of the platform through fragmentation instead of enhancing it. Despite that, comparing ALL Android activations to iOS activations is senseless. Does anyone think HTC cares more about total android activations or total HTC activations?
