So Skyrim looks like Oblivion, eh? - Page 4

Couldnt agree more.
PC upgrades and performance seeking has made us forget what is really important in games. Fun, gameplay, the experience.

Unless you are a graphical enthusiast who wants everything to look like Crysis or better, Skyrim is by no means a bad looking game at all.

The graphics are amazing for something that doesnt rip your PC apart and laugh at it. It is actually very well optimised for the memory it takes up and graphical-wise and the diversity of structures, landscape, houses, village are soo wide that there is something different at every corner.

Sure, the graphics aint mind-blowing texture-wise, but it makes up for it in scale, and the skies are just stunning.
But, one cant help but think that Bethesda didnt put in much effort in DX11/DX10 for PCs, as there is the modding community that will do the job for them anyway. Still, Skyrim isnt bad looking at all, unless you stare at the ground and look at every nook and cranny for faults.

Skyrim looks absolutely stunning, and to me it's close to Crysis in graphics, maybe even better because of the immersion. I will never understand anyone who says Skyrim has mediocre graphics, and that's what almost everyone is saying O.o

I find the low texture quality a problem with a lot of console games these days. I don't think this generation of consoles can really handle good texture, especially the 360. Units and ground/wall textures tend to be better but sort of organic objects in the environment look bad (ie trees). I feel like sometimes these just look like higher resolution versions of the trees in WOW. This goes for console games in general, but I think ps3 exclusives are better.

I liked the Oblivion environment a bit more--more sun, green, etc. Skyrim just looks gloomy all the time, but I guess that's fine because the game is amazing.

Good news:

375

375

Bad news, now its pretty hard on my system, My RAM usage goes up to 5.6GB, my VRAM to 1.35GB, and my GPU is pegged at 100% usage most of the time and I average 45FPS.

Look up DNA skyrim ini and the FXAA injector if you want it to look like this smile.gif I maxed out everything in the INI configurator besides shadows.

Not sure why..

Because of Fallout NV. Also i think skyrim is verry easy to understand! im not a hardcore rpg player so rpg's always confuse me. Skyrim is really easy to play and understand oh and there's dragons! who doesn't like dragons!!!

I have to say that skyrim is really hard on my system. Playing maxed out with FFAA injector. I only have it to enhance the colors a bit as i felt that skyrim is a bit lacking in color in some area's. Water deff looks better now and not gray water as i was seeming when i first played. I like nice colorful games xD. I do understand why skyrim is missing some things in the graphic area's due to it has to be on the consoles. Snow deff needs work. Many reviews say that in some areas the graphics are ummm......yeaaaa done in 30 secs while others are amazing. But then again this game is huge so having it with extreme graphics would make the game not work well for the consoles and just in general. Don't forget Trying to load all of that too. *cough*crysis*cough*

Skyrim is a piece of art. Oblivion was good, but cannot be compared to Skyrim. People saying Skyrim has mediocre graphics should get their eyes checked.

It's probably one of the best looking games I've seen. But the most important fact is that it's probably the best game I've ever played.

Skyrim looks great, anyone saying it looks worse than Oblivion is just flat out nuts. After the creation kit comes out things will only get better.

Too bad that better graphics don't mean better game play.
