6950 w/ HDMI doesn't look right

I have been using VGA to connected my PC to LCD Monitor, but decided to switch it out today for an HDMI cable (needed the VGA elsewhere). For some reason though, even though my resolution is set to 1920 x 1080, which is what it was at before and was fine, with the HDMI cable the screen has about a 1-2 inch black margin around it now.

I checked the Monitor settings and didn't see any way to stretch the display out. What exactly can I do to fix this? Changing to lower resolutions makes it fill out the screen, so I am quite confused.

there should be a scaling option in your tv's menus and in the ati control center.

Go into the Monitor settings and adjust it from there. All you do is adjust it from the settings to fill up the screen, My HD6850 did the same thing on my Vizio LED TV. I forgot why it does it though.

There are two options when connected by HDMI:

 

1. Go to My Flat Digital Display in CCC and adjust the Overscan slider to fill up the desktop then click "apply".

 

2. Create a customized resolution to fill up the desktop in CCC under the same tab as above.

 

You can have the Overscan as dekstop or Overscan for desktop and Customized Resolution in game settings.
