Second, get max clocks for benchmarks. Not alot of BD's are Prime stable above 4.6... Theyre fun to to benchmark even up to 7ghz on ln2 but, never are they really prime stable.
Let's see some fun benchmarks.
Good progress. thumb.gif

you said to increase NB voltage... are you talking about the cpu/nb voltage or the nb voltage? And what should I increase it to.?

Im pretty sure that I hace the cpu/nb at 1.375v and im not sure if I have the nb on auto or I may have it at like 1.1725. I remeber changing it to this buy not sure if I put it back to auto or not.

Much detail is appreciated. I thank everyone that is giving suggestions.

Thank you for the info on the workers stopping cause I thought it had to do with the cpu.

Just to let you know I am just testing the overclock with the multiplyer right now because I am just testing the cpu right now cause I want to see which one of the two are performing better that way I can return the lesser one. I have to return one of them soon that is why I am focused on just the multiplyer overclocking rather than the ram/fsb.

If I am comparing the two processors the wrong way, please elaborate. I figured this is the best way to test which cpu has the better performance rather than trying to overclock the ram/fsb.

If you think that the best way to compare the performance between the two cpus is another way, please explain. I would like to compare the performance and stability of each cpu as quickly as possible and send the lesser one back so if you have any other suggestions please post.

If you have suggestions, please include as much details and explanation as you can that way it is understood correctly.

Thank you for your time and your help.

nice overclocking m8
I don't know much about this, but I'm guessing comparing them by upping the multiplier makes sense because that's the way these chips are designed to OC?
wich bios are u using? if i may ask
I say if you would like to overclock with multipliers or a combination just do the same exact thing to both cpu's. That way u can compare evenly by changing base clock and multipliers. Most overclocks I've seen on fx chips are a lot of multi and a little of the base clocks. What matters is which way it performs best? Thanks for the post. Subscribed and keep us updated!

Update:

I have just got overclocking to 5.02Ghz and trying to get stable on Prime. I video taped it and uploading to youtube now. When its done processing I will upload.

I took the voltage all the way to 1.6v and still could not get it stable and 1.5v on CPU/NB.

I guess that this is that chips limits as far as frequency goes. I have another chip that I will be installing after I upload these videos for you to watch.

All comments and suggestions are appreciated. Please give feedback if you got it.

At 5.02Ghz, cinebench score is 8.12 I had at one point. Video shows 8.05 I think.

Will post videos asap. Please watch them and tell me what you think...

Thank you for your time and your help.

I will try the same thing with the other chip. Anyone think I should take the voltage any higher? 1.6v is pretty damn high. Highest I seen tested on water for Bulldozer.

Do you think the chip or the board has overvoltage protection for the chip? Let me know your thoughts on that.

Thanks
