Best quiet fans out there?

Thread Starter
My coolit eco fan is horrendously loud especially under load.

What fans would you guys recommend I get?

Also, for push/pull configs, would I need longer screws to go through the entire fan and into the rad?

edit: Preferably available at NCIX

Highly regarded for their performance with virtually no sound are the GT AP-15's

At the site you are looking at they appear to be back ordered (they are usually out of stock everywhere): GT AP-15's

Here is are some cheaper prices if they ever get theirs back in stock:

Frozencpu.com

Dangerden.com

SVC.com

And this site isn't out of stock, but is priced much higher than the others. So if you absolutely can't wait here is this option:

Since gentiles are out of stock at a lot places. I would settle for some Enermax TB Silence 120mm Or for rad the Enermax magmas 120mm are very good. The fan blades come off both those models for easy cleaning or optional painting. If not those, Noctua makes some silent fans as well only setback is noctua fans are usually $20-25 a fan but they are silent just checkout some 120mm noctua or enermax's i listed.

Magma

TB silence

Noctua NF-S12

Noctua NF P12

ALL of which can be bought at NCIX besides the Magma.

Can you fit 38mm's?

I've heard Delta EFBs are pretty quiet at low speeds. Would be great if you have a fan controller.

If not there are lower speed and 25mm versions.

I need case fans asap, and here in Greece it's hard to find GT's.

I saw Magmas, and TB silence.
1500rpm the 1st and 900 the second. What do you guys recommend?

I want those gentle typhoons now since XD recommended them too mad.gif

That hub on them is fairly huge though

Another high performance silent fan is the Cougar vortex 1500rpm

I have been really happy with my AP-15s though thumb.gif

I had gt's and couldn't stand them. They have a very tonal sound which drove me nuts. Noctuas are nice nd have.great build quality but are not very quiet, even at 5v. I haven't tried any enermax fans but generally wavy blades make more noise. My pick for quiet fans are GELID silent 12s (1000 rpm model), at 5v they make no noise. They are literally yate loons (so they will be great for rads/heatsink or case fans) with a better bearing for horizontal mounting and lower speed motor. At 5v they run at 600 rpm and still push a decent amount of air. I think I've spent around $200 this year on different types of fans and love what Gelid silents have to offer.

Can't recommend AP-15's enough honestly. I installed them as push/pull on my H60 radiator; it's like I installed a wind tunnel into the back of my computer, but they're almost silent. My temps went way down from using the stock fan. I've bought more GT's in preparation of my upcoming entrance to the real watercooling world, in fact. biggrin.gif

Edit: Didn't notice the second part of your question at first. I used long screws to hook the two fans up to my rad. But like I said, mine's an H60 rad so I'm not sure if it's the same as a normal one or not.
