Thanks! When will the big companies learn that all it takes is a bit of black paint?! tongue.gif

Well..... First one I plugged into a motherboard to test the acoustics at full speed, and was holding the fan. I was turning it from horizontal / vertical and as I did so, the fan kind of wobbled around because of the air it was pushing and I didn't expect it. So, it fell fan first onto the floor and a blade broke off. kookoo.gif

Second one, I was tracing the wires back to the PCB under the fan's sticker to sleeve them, and they just came off the PCB. mad.gif It was alright at this stage though because most my fury had vented due to my stupidity earlier with the first fan tongue.gif

Just a quick update.

I am deeply disappointed to report that one of my Scythe AP-15s has been lost in the post mad.gif
Even though I am to be issued with a full refund, this really sucks because I was depending on that fan for my H80's push/pull and now I cannot seem to find one for the life of me!

My motherboard and solid state drive are currently in transit from the States, so I should receive them later on during the week. I can't wait! biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, and I decided to order some Yate Loon 140mm fans. They arrived just earlier tonight, so I sleeved them up and screwed them into the case with the 650D's supplied rubber grommets.

IMAG0281.jpg

IMAG0285-1.jpg

Really pleased with the clean look of the fans that really suits the 650D style, and their acoustics is really good too! (Hooked up to the case's build in 3-speed fan controller)

Stay tuned for more guys! There will be a big update once my motherboard arrives! thumb.gif

PS. Anybody know where to source some AP-15s that will send to New Zealand? redface.gif

And most importantly!

Apologies for camera quality. I didn't have access to my point-and-shoot so my phone had to make do who-let-rip-smiley.png

IMAG0292.jpg
And here it is... The CPU+MOBO+RAM combo for kings wink.gif

IMAG0291.jpg

IMAG0290.jpg

IMAG0293.jpg

IMAG0295.jpg
Why don't they make SLI bridges all black frown.gif

IMAG0296-1.jpg
Ah, this is such a beautiful board!

IMAG0297-1.jpg
These will be the first thing to remove biggrin.gif

IMAG0298-1.jpg
I'm slightly worried about this MOLEX connecter... whether I will have space enough to actually connect it in my case. Time will tell..

Stay tuned for the installation update thumb.gif

This is it! The motherboard I have been waiting for to really bring this build together!
Again, I must apologise for the colours in these photos... My cellphone doesn't take good pictures although it's an 8MP frown.gif I was just too impatient to wait for a camera to shoot with tongue.gif

IMAG0300-1.jpg
First began by installing my RAM. First 8GB...

IMAG0303-1.jpg
...Then the second 8GB wink.gif Superfluous, I know, but so so good biggrin.gif There's the 2500K as well!

IMAG0304-1.jpg
Comfy 1155 Socket smile.gif

IMAG0305-1.jpg
Installing the rear piece for the H80 took a surprisingly long time having to line all the holes up sliding the screw slots into place.

IMAG0306-1.jpg
All done smile.gif

IMAG0311-1.jpg
Board all installed. Time to start cable management. Oh boy, was I in for a treat...

IMAG0310-1.jpg
8 pin CPU power cables done. Easiest part of cable management of the whole build haha. Those North Bridge heatsinks looking very magenta... ASUS ROG wouldn't be amused frown.gif

IMAG0313-1.jpg
Next, I had to remove the PSU to access that bottom MOLEX connector, but it did fit after all! Woo-hoo! And this photo accurately portrays the colours biggrin.gif

IMAG0314-1.jpg
Now came the hard part: The 24 pin connector. Those wires at the back posed the greatest challenge. At least for the next build I do, I'll be prepared and think around this, because sleeved cables are certainly harder to work with at times than non-sleeved!

IMAG0318-1.jpg
Got the 24 pin connected alright, and tried to keep the wires looking tidy and in order (grey-red-white-grey-red-... etc.) At this stage I still had the S-ATA cables running up the case on the inside, but I later decided it'd keep more in-sync with the look of the build if they came up the back of the case.

IMAG0317-1.jpg
Looking sliiiiiiightly better back there!

IMAG0319-1.jpg
S-ATA cables connected!

IMAG0321-1.jpg
H80 installed! With only one Typhoon at the moment because I'm still waiting for places to stock them again frown.gif

IMAG0320-1.jpg
As I said, I routed the optical drive power and data cables at the back of the case to match the rest of the cable management. Looks great!

At the moment I'm using the PC without the Solid State Drive, using a Powercolour HD5450 for graphics! This is because I don't want to reinstall Windows on the SSD (every GB is too valuable tongue.gif ) when I get my nVidia cards, and also gives me a chance to update firmware on the SSD etc. Also, most importantly it gives me a PC to use in the interim!

Anyway, this build shall be on stand-by for the next couple of weeks as I save for my GTX 580s. Thanks for your interest everybody and be sure to leave some feedback! biggrin.gif

Stay tuned for more! thumb.gif
