Hi Joell, I saw your other thread about your 6970 as well. How far can you overclock on stock voltages? It sounds like the dots only appear when you increase voltage over stock?

And you've probably already done this, but try setting Power tune in CCC to +20%.

I'm actually running into this problem myself all of a sudden. Just the other day, I bumped up my GPU core to 900 (I'm using CCC to oc), and I was getting full load with +20% power tune and reaching 900MHz on the GPU clock. But today, I loaded it up and its sitting right at 800 just like yours is. confused.gif

Well, in CCC there's a "Power control setting", which I just call power tune. This setting basically limits your cards TDP, so if your card starts pulling more watts, CCC will downclock your card. I only started playing with overclocking my GPU earlier this week, and I was using Afterburner, but I kept noticing that the clock would fluctuate between my set OC value and somewhere around 555MHz or so. When I set power tune up to +20%, it held steady at my overclock.

BUT, there was a conflict between Afterburner and CCC. In order to turn on +20% power tune, I had to enable "Graphics OverDrive" in CCC, which is the overclocking utility within CCC. With this enabled, the clocks set in CCC would override those in Afterburner, so that's why I switched to using CCC to oc.

And today, even with power tune at +20%, and my clock set at 900 and above, load clock stays unchanged at 800MHz, like you saw. I'll try a restart and see if it helps anything.

I'm thinking that maybe the problem has to do with the latest 11.11 drivers? Judging from your screenshots, it looks like you're running 11.11 too. I don't remembered seeing this issue on previous driver versions.

Oh, ok. Well, restarting fixed my issue, but I guess we're not any closer in solving your problem. frown.gif

And at least its somewhat comforting to know that the issue isn't with a specific version of CCC.

What clocks are running with those settings? Is it reaching your overclock, or still stuck at 800?

its sometime stuck on 800 anyway just had a crash in skyrim used 1000 core 1500 ram 1.2 voltage
