Digital Copy play back and streaming ?'s

Thread Starter
Okay so i have been in the blu ray buying buisness for about a year now. I built a theater room in my house with a Projector and a HTPC to run it. I normally just use the blu ray to watch movies and never gave the digital copy much though.

Well about a month ago i got a wild hare up my @$$ and decided to get all my blue rays out and get the digital copy version on the hard drive of my HTPC. I went through the entire download/ativation crap that they have, i finally got them working. They played back fine.

Well last night i was upstairs on my gaiming computer and though hey, i wonder if i can stream a movie from my HTPC to my desktop. Well i tried and it asked for my activation code, so i go downstairs to get my disk and when i type it in, it tells me that its no longer valid.

So i go back down to my HTPC to try to plya the movie down there and it says that WMP is unable to play the movie while debbugging is enabled? Im not sure what that means?

Could this have something to do with nvidia cuda or something?

Also the portable version is a joke for these movies. You cant pu them on your android phones to watch them. I dotn see the point in them at all.

Is it the DRM thats giving me trouble? Can i remove it?

Thanks
Falcon

It's the DRM messing with you. Not easily.

I tried one digital copy, got frustrated, and then I got "MakeMKV" which let's me make my own "backup" of a blu ray into an MKV file. From here you can use a program like Handbrake or UltraVideo converter to turn that massive (~50GB) MKV into a more manageable MP4/AVI file for you mobile devices, or just compress it into a smaller MKV and save a ~10GB copy that looks *ALMOST* as good as the 50GB copy, but is, you know, 40GB smaller.

Note: I'm not encouraging piracy so I don't violate the ToS here. Fair use dictates that a user has the right to protect and backup his content and lately laws have been defending "buy is once and use it anywhere" as long as you're not sharing it.
