Why would he do that? H100's are great.. Temps are amazing, and this is coming from someone who was running a full dual rad custom loop earlier.

And to the OP, very nice, you will be amazed at what intel chips are capable of..

The H100 will last him a good amount of time until he has the knowledge and time to maintain a true custom loop. Plus it'll give a large overhead to OC his chip without having some bulky mass covering up his mobo.

I have a 2600k myself and I am well aware of the power of intel. wink.gif

Good to hear praise about the H100 from a custom loop owner. Thanks! thumb.gif

Well we forgot to order some fans for a proper push/pull config so is it okay if we use the stock Corsair fans on the pull side and some generic Cooler Master fans on the push while he gets some decent matching ones?

I believe the specs on both sets are about the same, but my question is this harmful and will it reduce the amount of cooling until he is able to buy 4 better ones?
mix and matching fans cant exact be harmful. you'll just see a small performance decrease, but thats due to the poor quality of the fans themselves, not the configuration.
everyone around these parts would recommend the gentle typhoon fans, so its generally a good idea to try a fan that almost everyone on OCN recommends =]
good luck with your friends built!

Yeah, I have four Typhoons on my H100 and they're pretty quiet and push a decent amount of air.

Does anyone know about these fans:
COUGAR CF-V12HP

Saw a youtube video about them being alternatives to the Typhoons. I'll suggest these or maybe some Yate Loons.

I believe it's this one except it's black and from Amazon:
SAMSUNG

I have the same one in my HTPC and I highly recommend it. thumb.gif

The stock Corsair fans are amazing on the H100 on their own. The only problem with them are the noise.
