Various games keep popping to Windows mid game

So since a few days I've been having this issue, some of my games keep popping back to Windows.

First it was LA Noire and now Fifa 12 aswell, mid game they just pop back to Windows which of course puts the game on pause. Which is, well, annoying as hell.

On top of that when I'm typing sometimes the cursor just pops away and I have to click in the are where I'm writing again (might be related?)

Oh and I also tend to select text that I read on a bit too bright websites and for some reason after 15-20 seconds the color of the selected text changes... to something I can't read (bright)

my pc never used to do this, I have absolutely no clue what it is... I've run spyware/adware software... and there aren't any infections.

I've recently installed a driver for an Xbox 360 controller, but I don't see how that could be the issue

Odd issue, the only thing I can think of is a graphics driver issue. Have you tried a re-installation of your GPU drivers / earlier version?

Hmmm I did actually just update my driver, might be the issue I guess? I'll try re-installing an older version! smile.gif

When playing Skyrim, it sometimes switches to Wndows. Other times, I could play 5 hours straight and everything will be fine. Probably a bug somewhere but it doesnt happen often enough for me to care.

I think it does have something to do with playing with a controller on a PC or a program notification that causes it.

Well I downgraded my driver, that didn't fix anything...

Might actually be the controller's driver than I guess :/

Yeah I would try uninstalling the 360 controller drivers and see what happens. Odd if that fixes it because it def does sound like a gpu related issue.

Actually, after re-reading your original post, it does sound like some sort of conflict between keyboard/mouse/controller drivers.

I have the same issue and I would like to save you time and effort

I use a 360 controller and after thinking the same thing I came to work out the problem,

The controller drivers were not the problem

what anti-virus are you running?

is there any programmes running in the background like windows update e.c.t

but more to the point when it takes you back to the desktop do you get a little notification by the clock like "windows has finished updating" "new updates available"

Because I found out my windows update kept brining me back to the desktop just because it wanted to tell me there was a driver update for something I didnt even use tongue.gif

Not that I have noticed... but admittadly I have a form of tunnel vision so never really paid attention to it...

I hope it's that cause this is starting to make me want to rip my hair out..

As for security stuff:

Spybot Seek & Destroy
Quick Care
Advanced SystemCare 4
iObit Malware Fighter
