You should have no problem powering your rig with a 500 watt psu but if you want to make sure you can use one of these.

There is no program that can tell you that.

If it's a random no-brand PSU, then I would replace it anyway, as it could blow if you start to push it.

You want see see how much you are drawing? Kill-A-Watt things fun, lol. It shows you wattage pulled from wall so then you have to go back and calculate the PSU's efficiency.

Simply because I want to compare how many amps a gpu is pulling vrs the capacity of the rail in the power supply I am working on getting some amp meters mounted on the front panel of my test station. Watts from the wall is nice to know but I am interested in seeing how overclock settings change amperage draw, when will it be done? hoping for summer next year as I can't devote all my time to this little project but when it is done it will be pretty quick to evaluate a gpu's amperage draw. I would like to look over some gpu schematics and see just what is being fed off what line, if anyone has a source for schematics I do not mind paying.I worked for Motorola and it was pretty easy to get extra schematics for 2-way radios (like the hand held units the cops use) but I have never even sceen a gpu schematic. The radios I speak of were popular back in the 80's, a time when you still repaired things. You would be suprised at the many hilarious things that happened to radios and pagers.
