Hi all,

I have a TV that connects to my laptop and works great bia HDMI cable, both transmitting video and audio.
last week I bought a new computer running Gigabyte 880 mother board with on boar ati radeon hd 4250. It runs win7 64 bit. When I connect this computer to my TV I get video but audio via the HDMI cable.
I have the CCC 11.7 and I also tried Realtek drivers - nothing works.

Any ideas?
I'm really desperate as for now...

Any help to a lady in trubble will be much appretiated smile.gif

I am sure if you installed the whole Catalyst package should include HDMI Audio Driver.

If so, go to the taskbar and right click on the speaker icon and select "sound".

Under the playback tab, select the HDMI as default playback device.

I tried that already, but this option is disabled in my case.
Here, have a look:

Unplug whatever plugged to Digital Audio or go into BIOS if there's an option to disable onboar Realtek Audio Device.

If not, uninstall Catalyst package driver, restart then reinstall. Connect the HDMI TV to the onboard HDMI while doing this. After installation and PC restart, it should select the first available audio device. Or go to sound options to enable the HDMI.

Did you install this? http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/embedded/Pages/embedded_windows_all.aspx

thanks for your help Ken.

I tried to update my drivers as you saied and things seem to change:
now I get a message of "hdmi-to-dvi notification".
any idea why?
If you are using DVI-to-HDMI adapter will have no sound. Only native HDMI with video and audio.

But here is my problem - I'm not using any adaptor.

My system is: TV-HDMI cable-Computer.
when the computer is my laptop - eveything is working fine (both video and audio).
From here I know that both my TV and HDMI cable are fine and working.
When the computer is my new computer - I have no audio coming from teh HDMI TV.

My video card is ATI HD 4250, built in on Gigabyte 880GM-D2H motherboard.
This card has an HDMI connection, so I don't understand this error message stating that my HDMI cable is connected to DVI connector in teh PC ratehr than to HDMI one.

ooof.
I already spent 2 days trying solving it out....no succsess yet.

Take the screenshot as in your previous post. Do you have HDMI device enableb/plugged in? If so, try different HDMI cable. There are HDMI 1.3, 1.3a, 1.3b, 1.3c, 1.4 and 1.4a could be the reason. Could be the mainboard has 1.4a.

acording to specs, this mainboard has HDMI 1.3
My cable should be 1.4, but I'll try looking for another cable, to check it out.

Many thanks!
