LG 37LV3550

Hey guys

I'm sick and tired of the grief my SDTV gives me, so I've been looking around for a good replacement that's both decent and won't cost me an arm and a leg. The one that's stood out for me is the 37" LG LV3550, specs are here.

I basically need it for general TV watching, watching blu-rays and occasional gaming. I don't need fancy crap like 3D and applications running on the TV, all I really care about is the image I'll get from it.

The problem I have is that I'm having a hard time finding any actual reviews for this, and that also goes for a lot of the other LG models I've been looking at. Aside from some very positive commentaries from people who bought them in an online shop and left a review, I've got nothing.

I was wondering if anyone has any input on this thing, I'd probably be getting it for somewhere between €480 and €550 depending on where we'd buy it.

Any input is appreciated, thanks a lot in advance!

I don't own this TV personally, but I do own a 47" LED-backlit LCD HDTV by LG (not sure of the model number, but it was purchased this past year).

The stereo speakers are pretty lousy/tinny which isn't a surprise, but the image is fantastic. The response rate of the screen you've listed looks pretty good.

Look up the warranty info, and find out the return policies of retailers. If you're not satisfied, make sure you at least have the option of a refund or store credit.

That said, make your purchase during Black Friday or Cyber Monday for the best deals. The TVs that will be sold then will surely have some reviews available!

I don't own this, but if it's anything like the other 27-37" panels LG make then you'll have a panel lottery (some are TN some are S-IPS).

The only way you could tell is by the product code on the box (where the 4th char was either a W or D for IPS or TN respectively).

The stereo speakers are probably gonna be pretty much equally terrible in all LED monitors, there's just no room to place a decent speaker, so I'm not too worries about that. I'll get a new 2.1 set to go with it anyway (don't have room for more speakers at this time).

I would probably have this one shipped in directly from our supplier specifically for me and then buy it through our company, so return options seem slim tongue.gif. Also, out here in Belgium we don't really have the whole Black Friday/Cyber Monday thing, so that doesn't help I'm afraid frown.gif.

Well I already own a 23" LG IPS monitor and the viewing angle is exactly the same on the monitor as it is on the 37" TV, so I'll assume it should be OK. Don't really have the option of looking at the product code before buying it because it'll be ordered in specifically for me.

Thanks for the info guys, REP+ to both of you smile.gif.
