6770m vs 6550m vs hd3000

Thread Starter
Am I going to see a huge performance increase between any of these? Hd3000(i5) and 6650(a6 3400) laptops are about the same price while 6770m(i7) is $150 more.

that link should give a fairly good idea of where most of the graphics cards stack up. The page is a little hard to follow because of the color scheme they chose so let me help a bit.

In short, yes you will see a significant difference between the first two and the third. If you plan on playing games on your laptop I recommend getting the latter of the three choices you provided.

6770m and 6550m both trounce the HD3000

Speaking from experience, you really wouldn't want to game at anything other than lowest setting on an HD3000 unless you are playing less demanding or older games. The HD3000 has trouble running Hitman:Blood Money (2006) maxed for me.
I'm glad I have the GT540m to compensate for its weekness.
