On a side note: Beats, and with the EQ turning the bass WAAAAY down, sound nice, but as soon as a little punch is added, all you hear is bass and no other sounds.

You like the earbuds? I got a pair for Christmas last year and I thought the sound quality was awful; very muddy and the highs were terrible. They also broke after 3 months of use mad.gif.

LOL. Beats and the software equalizer settings scam in windows. Anyone else seen that video? Turn beats on and it raises just about everything really loud. Turn it off and instead of returning to default levels it drops them to the bottom. rolleyes.gif

Um yeah, I'll stick with my Klipsch S4's, they may not be the best but for what I paid for em, they keep me quite happy!

But given the choice of 2 well educated people with identical personalities that you could get on with for life, both loved you, would be financially secure with, live in a happy home but 1 ugly and 1 stunning. Who you going to pick? Instinct wink.gif.

I 100% agree with what you're saying about looks. I agree that looks matter...a LOT. But ppl who buy headphones for looks are mentally retarded. There is a HUGE difference between not wearing some hideous looking, ginormous pair of headphones on ur head and getting something good for the money.

Looking good is fine, but THINKING u look good cause other sheep are sporting the same crap, AND getting ripped off in the process cause u refuse to use ur brain, is retarded.

PS. Beats look terrible. Whenever I see ppl with them, I lose a bit more faith in humanity.

The Ultrasone Pro 900 are amazing cans and in my view sound better than any beats on the market. Would I say that the Ultrasone 900 'destroy' the beats? Not really because there is a difference in sound signature and the beats are not as bad you make them sound. I have seen this attitude again with Senn fans. Everyone is saying that the HD650, which I own, trashes everything out there at anything. Do I subscribe to this idea? No! Why? Because whilst an amazing can, like your Ultrasone Pro 900, the HD650 comes with a totally different sound signature (unparallelled mid-bass, mids and treble) but lacks the punchy low sub-bass of the Denon D2000 and even the Ultrasone Pro 900.

If I were to listen to all the hate against the beats and any other can manufacturer out there which is not Sennheiser, I could say that my HD650s trash badly your Ultrasone Pro 900. Surely you would not agree as your pair of cans is quite good for what is intended. Similarly, the Beats Pro and DETOX, are quite good for the niche they aim. thumb.gif

Bottom line : 90% of the posts here are trying to deter from the larger picture : some of the beats by dre cans are good. People hate them because of their price, popularity and cultish attitude (Apple anyone?) . This does not mean that we should ignore what they can do. Of course, they are not tailored for everyone. Some call them muddy and very bassy, I find their lack of bass disturbing (what a Star Wars reference I made here biggrin.gif). Those who prefer the sound pushed towards the middle, they will enjoy the beats pro and detox. Why can't we accept that these headphones do have some quality? Of course, the mob backlash made Dre make some puerile statements which ignited even more hate but let us be honest and make rational posts.

I bought a pair of these while I was an employee for best buy,

The supplied cord was too short and the audio had a crackle... I returned them only to find out you also need some kind of audio amplifier that processes your tunes into better sound?? It was another $100 device. It's not worth it to me personally.

I've found that skull candy's $12 ear buds produce enough bass to satisfy my dubstep needs.

Meh, the Beats range has changed a bit since I last looked. Only the bright Orange Studio over-ear look anywhere near stylish to me, maybe the Solo in red too. I'd sooner buy these though for looks and sound quality. I had a bit of use on the Pioneer DJ stand at this years Gadget Show Live in the UK. They do them in red and black too.
