[NYT] Headphones with Swagger (and Lots of Bass) - Page 20

I have never tried out the Beats as the demo units at Best Buy stab your ears out at the lowest volume.

I'm glad he's successful with the Beats, to be honest. It means more of us will have the opportunity to introduce people to better quality, less expensive headphones. Audiophiles unite... and spread the good word. thumb.gif

But he actually has nothing to do with them laugher.gif Monster just pay him money to say they are good and use his name. People then don't actually do any research and think "Well Dr. Dre said they are good so they are good."

It's the same with other celebrity endorsements. Especially perfume.

In either case, the guy's benefiting from them, as is the manufacturer. I still maintain that this is a good thing even if Beats themselves aren't much of much.

The thing in your AV is so disgusting and ugly. I feel the urge to chop the head off with a blunt saw.

I demoed multiple sets of BEATS at the local BestBuy. First set I used was the ear buds. For $80+ they were no where near worth it.

Then I used two versions of the headphones, both were horrible and sounded as if something was loose every time the bass line dropped hard. This happened with the ear buds, but wasn't as noticeable since the drivers speakers Metal Trashcans in them are smaller.

What's the new phrase going around now... I used to use BEATS by Dre, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

Exactly, quality headphones make no more bass than what is in the media being played, but why should I even explain when you seem to support beats over a pair of Sub $100 headphones that are better than beats in every way?

Did you try out the Bose demo sets? To me, the Bose units sounded much more clear than the beats.

When did I ever say what you should think sounds good or bad? Please read my posts again and think a few seconds before posting. They were in regards to the true reproduction of the recorded material, which is a flat frequency response across the spectrum. You can like what coloration you want, but you will not be reproducing the recording as it was intended. How is this hard to understand?
