Need a desktop replacement

Thread Starter
I need a desktop replacement laptop. MAIN USE-GAMING Battery life 2-3 hours, weight doesn't matter, I would prefer a 15.6" screen size or a bit smaller, price range is 1700 USD, has to be good at gaming. So suggestions please biggrin.gif

Something like this seems to suit your budget and is great for gaming and same size screen that you requested and also has a 2 year manufacturer's warranty (vs the normal 1 year) so you can rest easy for 2 years at least and has a GTX 570M and i7-2630QM.

Here is a link the general performance of a GTX 570M:

and some more information on the CPU:

Yeah, I'll keep that in mind, however IMO it is ugly haha. Any other suggestions?

Customize it with a HD 6990M, 8GB of DDR3 1600 ram, IC Diamond thermal compound, and a Bigfoot killer 1103 wireless card and it comes out to 1,684. You won't find a better deal. Sager's rule.

A DTR Laptop is a laptop classified with a relatively high end GPU and CPU with at least a 17" screen. The size denotes more than what's under the hood. My Qosmio is an 18.4" behemoth and I love it. I wouldn't, and won't, go below 18.4" machines again after using this thing. The screen is to die for. However the setup there would run you about 3.5-4K easy.

If you want something good and big, go Malibal.

The Veda P180HM is currently having a deal for a free upgrade to one 6970M from the stock 560M. And crossfireX for the 6970M is the same price as the 560M SLI for easily double the performance.

Not to mention there's an option to take off $100 if it's totaling over $1500. biggrin.gif This setup would only cost you just under $1600 without that $100 off. biggrin.gif Malibal for the win!

According to Notebookcheck.net, the 6970M pushes an 11k GPU score in vantage, 21k in CFX whereas the 560m pushes only 8k alone and 15k in SLI. Free upgrades for the win. biggrin.gif Also, the 6970M is faster than the 570M too by a good margin. wink.gif

Final EDIT:

The same setup as that Sager above, customized under Malibal comes out to $1500. tongue.gif Just be sure to include the $100 off thingy. biggrin.gif
