New 1155 build (2700k, P67, 8GB G. Skill, Intel SSD, HD 6950) - Page 2

2700k (tentatively) Change to 2500k, unless you are doing any extensive rendering/editing, then I would go with the 2600k.

Corsair H50 Great cooler. If you are unsure if it will cool enough, upgrade to an H80, or if you want to go air a Noctua NH-D14

ASRock P67 Extreme6 thumb.gif

G. Skill X Series Ripjaws (2 x 4GB) thumb.gif

HD 6950 2 GB (tentatively) Like others have said 560ti sli would be awesome, or 2 of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150563

Intel XXXGB SSD 510 Series (tentatively) Not really sure on SSDs

2 x 150GB Velociraptors thumb.gif I have two of these in Raid 0

1TB Seagate thumb.gif Western Digital fan, but storage is storage biggrin.gif

ASUS VW266H 25.5" LCD thumb.gif

Logitech G500 thumb.gif

Saitek Eclipse thumb.gif I have the Eclipse II, love my keyboard.

CM 590 -> Migration to Antec 900 Good case, used to own one thumb.gif

Get the 2600k... There's pretty much no diference between the 2600k and the 2700k besdies the price. Save a few buxxs and crossfire that Hd 6950

Thread Starter
Good info here guys, thanks! Turns out the IRE deal is for a 2700K! Hopefully the H50 can get me where I need to be going, and if not we'll have to see what else is out there.

I'll check out the NH-D14 for sure, thanks for the recommendation!

I'm thinking that with the AMD package having an HD 6950 2GB and BF/CM I'll be able to get two to CF for around $400, maybe less. Would that be a good route or would SLI 560ti be better? Keep in mind I have a 750W PSU and not trying to upgrade it if I go SLI or CF.

Reps for helping guys, thanks.

If I were you I would pick up a Corsair AX750 or AX850. Knowing that you don't want to upgrade your psu, I would take the 6950's, if you are lucky, you can unlock them to 6970 speeds.

I recommend the GTX 560 TI Hawk beats the 570 in some benchmarks and is around $ 285
