5770 xFire or 6850?

Hey guys I was wondering which one I should get?

I could get 2x 5770 and crossfire them for about $120
or
should I get 1x 6850?

Just hoping to get the most FPS for Skyrim, BF3, and Diablo 3. Thanks.
well i would say a 6850 is slightly bettter than a 5770 at best i would almost think they are mostly equal. So with that said honestly i would save yourself a few bucks and crossfire the 5770 just know the cap profile for skyrim hasnt been released yet. When it gets released you will get your full potential of the crossfired cards and i would think that 2x5770s would run bf3 decently but that depends on your resolution and your proccessor. What processor are you running btw need to make sure you wont be bottlenecking the crossfired cards by running an older processor?

I am running an AMD x4 970. Still locked to 4 cores at the moment. 8GB of ram. Running a 7600GT right now so it would be a major upgrade.

The 5770 Xfire should be somewhat faster.

Personally I'd go for the single 6850 though. Single card setups are generally preferable unless there's a large performance difference (i.e. >20%). They are less prone to driver problems & incompatibilities, and are more power & heat friendly.

ok well your running the exact same processor as me so you wont have any major issues with a processor bottleneck. Just make sure if your getting 2 5770's that they have decent cooling capability and that your case has decent airflow dont want them getting too hot. But if it were my choice i would crossfire the 5770s if your getting 2 for $120 or are you getting for $120 each?

Get a 6850, because it is a beast card and can handle any game these days even if medium settings on the most intensive games(bf3). Eventually you can CF the 6850s which combined are more powerful than a GTX 580. The 6850 also offers DX11 whereas the 5770s are just DX10.

2x 5770s is old tech and offers no future upgradability.

You clearly know nothing about the 6850. It is in fact, about 98% performance of the 5850; much more powerful than a measly 5770.

Go for 1 6850. Less power and money for roughly the same performance.

Sapphire HD 6850's are on sale on the egg for $130 after rebate and Powercolor HD 6870 on sale for $140 after rebate, meaning it is pointless to get weaker older card unless you get it used for like $70.
