Cant help ya without knowing what the issues are. Without knowing and just a shot in the dark, Im gonna say your problem is with that Ares. Thats a dual card, its dual 5870's so youre rig is seeing a Crossfire setup. Problem is, AMD's Crossfire drivers are, well, kinda troublesome. Chances are, thats your problem. Make sure youve got Crossfire enabled in CCC and make sure youve got the most current drivers. 11.11 I believe is the most up to date right now.

Thanks for reply. I do have crossfire activated, I dont have the version of driver youve listed. My problem is during game play I get alot of lag an also some games runs chopy every now an then. Crysis, Battlefield, an COD series. Had some problems with New Vegas also. I'll download the driver an give it a shot. You also said the ares could be part of the problem also, Could you be more dscrip and why? Thanks JR

Not that its a problem with Asus, but because its a dual card. The Ares is just two 5870's hooked together so its essentially 5870's in Crossfire. AMD drivers are legendary for having bugs with several games in Crossfire so thats why it was my initial thought. Seems like I was right.

Generally to test for this, youd disconnect one of your GPU's and run with a single card and see if the stuttering and lag was still there. If it wasnt, you know its the drivers and compatibility that was the issue. I dont think you can disable just one of the 5870's in the Ares so you cant test that way.

Let us know how the new drivers work out. It should help as I havent heard too much complaining on the forums about problems with the new drivers aside from no Skyrim support yet.

Hi, I downloaded the driver you suggested. Now Ive got a problem. Ive tryed to install the new driver and no matter how I try to do it, My system crashes. Ive tryed to uninstall old drivers and crash, Ive tryed strait up install and crash. It crashes when detecting hardware. I tryed to directly uninstalling from windows an still crashes. When I say crash I mean locks up. Ive had this problem in past and thats why I never updated driver from the 1 that came on Asus disk with Ares cards. I know these arent the fastest cards out there but these cards are un beatable in over all performance or at least there hasnt been a game or other software that they cant handle. Thats why I chose them and because of cost I realy want to make these cards scream instead of buying new 1s. Any help will be greatly appreciated. JR
