Ivy Bridge 1155 - Speculation? - Page 3

The mainstream Ivy Bridge will most likely be a quad core, but they are improving both the cpu and gpu in it. The cpu will receive slight tweaks, and the gpu will be about double the EU's along with improvements to them.

The 22nm tri-gate transistors should provide higher clocks than SB or a much lower TDP. Intel is upping the max multiplier to 62x compared to SB's 57, which could mean higher overclocks.

It's nice that Intel is keeping the 1155 socket for Ivy; it will at least provide a cheaper upgrade for SB enthusiasts with money to burn.

That's my favorite review. Sure, it's a beast, but if you're willing to spend $1500+ on a 17% performance gain, holy crap.

Why would you ever buy the 3960X? 3930K is identical for 60% of the price.
