Plus then what cpu cooler should I get instead?

The CM Hyper 212+ is very popular and effective air cooling.

The best SSDs are the Crucial M4 (128 GB model has better performance than the 64 GB), OCZ Vertex 3 (make sure to update the firmware), Patriot Wildfire, and Corsair Force 3 or Force GT.

SSD is just too awesome. I'd rather run on stock clock and SSD.

Leave the H100 for later.

Is a 120GB necessary? Can you get say a 60GB and also a cooler such as the Cooler Master V6 GT or a Thermaltake Frio?

Kill two birds with one stone. Depending on whether your 1TB drive is a SATA III drive or not you may be surprised by the load times from it. I've got a WD Caviar Black SATA III 1TB drive and when loading Skyrim there isn't enough time to even read the little tidbits of info on the loading screens.

If you choose to go for the SSD might aswell wait for the OCZ Octane.

I would say a 120gb is the minimum I would go, ESP if he plays games.

My 90gb is full 95% of the time, and hope to get another one for Christmas so that I don't have to keep an eye on how full it is.
