Overclocking a Phenom II 955 - Page 5

can you get us some cpu-z shots of your cpu tab and mem tab ?
im sorry but with a reference clock(fsb) of 230, multi of x11 gets your nb @ 2530 and a x12 is 2760. with the 230 you also get a ht link of 2070 with x9 multi.

dont want to nit-pick but rounding off is a no-no. exacts help get the most you can get.
slap me if you want biggrin.gif im both ocd and anal about numbers

hi

here's mine @4.2Ghz

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2150968

i usually get 12 hours in and crash.. although last time I had this config it lasted 2 days without crash but I changed it to stock because Bioshock 2* kept crashing when I went to chat.

: shrugs:

dunno.

*not windows.

in last post I was remembering it wrongly. but I got some crashes around 4Ghz.

Ok, I have plenty of shots here that i will post. I set my system failure settings to not restart on failure and i'll do another prime run tonight and see how it goes.

Heres First pic:
This pic shows what its set at when C&Q is enabled (gets my temps down to 35C idle)
351

Heres Pic of the full clocks (when it ramps up the CPU to the regular settings):
350

Heres all the CPU/Memory specs:
578

I have found that the only thing this is unstable in is an overnight Prime 95 test. everything else is fully stable.
Also, where do I find a linux stress testing application to test in there? Because everything in linux is stable. I just havent stress tested it yet.

drop your ht link down to 2000 by going down 2 on the multi-x8 not x10. thats probably the reason youre crashing.
if you bsod again, let us know what the code is and we can go from there.
if youre good n stable, add another multi to your cpu-nb x11. youll see a lil bit more of an improvement on your overall speed.

In linux I have LinX installed using crossover, it is probably installable under wine as well. And systester which is basically mprime for linux. http://systester.sourceforge.net/about.php

Whoa I'd defo drop a RAM protocol (speed).

FYI:I just BSOD after 10 miniutes @4.2

dropped the FSB to 245 put HT to Auto and put the NB up to 26xx

just got in to windows. this is the stuff I needed to learn how to OC back in the day and just as much today...

anyhoo.

here's my go, just to help out, if any one cares.

dava when you crash this time, get your ht link down between 1900 and 2100. youre still running it at 2450. a multi of x8 will work just peachy. a multi of x11 on your cpu-nb will work good too wink.gif (2695 if itll stay stable. mine did)

seems stable @4.1

hmmm nice.

i dont have the bios option for multis for NB and HT so just set it like you said. smile.gif

i'll give this a go and try to keep it on for at least 24 hours. then run some tests maybes.(no use running tests if it'll crash under windows straight off eh?)

thanks for the tip, pc-illiterate.

just a wee note.. the fan stop making a weird noise when i did this smile.gif

CPU is WC.
