Hi all,

I am currently in the process of overclocking my 2500k system to the desired 4.5 mark.
here is the current guide i've used and it's stable so far *touch wood

I5 2500K 4.5GHZ

BIOS VERSION - F6

CPU CLOCK - 33X
BCLK - ( DISABLED ) left at default 100mhz
EXTREME MEMORY PROFILE XMP - ( PROFILE 1 )
SYSTEM MEMORY MULTI - ( AUTO )

CPU CLOCK RATIO [33X]
PWN FREQUENCY CONTROL [ AUTO ]
INTERNAL CPU OVER CURRENT PROTECTION [ AUTO ]
INTERNAL CPU PLL OVERVOLT [ AUTO ]
RATIO CHANGES IN OS [ DISABLED ]
INTEL BOOST TECH [ AUTO ]
RATIO 1 - 4 [ 45 ]
TURBO POWER LIMIT [ 250 ]
CORE CURRENT [ 250 ]
CPU CORES ENABLED [ ALL ]
CPU ENHANCED HALT C1E [ AUTO ]
EIST [DISABLED]
C3/C6 STATE SUPPORT [ AUTO ]
CPU THERMAL MONITOR [ DISABLED ]
BI-DIRECTIONAL PROCHOT [ AUTO ]

\Advanced Memory/

EXTREME MEMORY PROFILE X.M.P [ PROFILE 1 ]
SYSTEM MEMORY MULTI SPD [ AUTO ]
PERFORMANCE ENHANCE [ STANDARD ]
DRAM TIMING SELECT SPD [ AUTO ]
CHANNEL A - B [ AUTO ]

\Advanced Voltage Settings/
MULTI-STEPS LOAD-LINE [ LEVEL 6 ]
CPU VCORE [ 1.330V ]
QPI/VTT VOLTAGE 1.050V [ AUTO ]
SYSTEM AGENT VOLTAGE 0.920V [ AUTO ]
DYNAMIC VCORE [ AUTO ]
GRAPHICS DVID [ AUTO ]
CPU PLL VOLTAGE 1.800V [ AUTO ]
DRAM VOLTAGE 1.500V [ 1.600V ]
DRAM VREF 0.750V [ AUTO ]
DRAM TERMINATION 0.750V [ AUTO ]
CH-A/B ATA VREF 0.750V [ AUTO ]
CH-A/B ADDRESS VREF [ AUTO ]

The only differences are that because i'm using the special edition white vengeance ram my DRAM voltages are lower. currently showing running at around 1.368v in easytune 6

My main concern is that although i appear to be stable for about 3 hours now doing prime blend. Easy tune shows my vcore being 1.392 volts.

Is this too much? because according to realtemp my vid is 1.38 so i'm guessing i will need at least that to run stable which sucks as i know some good chips run 4.5 at 1.34 volts

Anyways let me know what you guys think as i'm still new to overclocking

appreciate your time!

I run 1.392v 24/7 on my i7 2600k @ 4.7ghz... so doubt it.

Having the MULTI-STEPS LOAD-LINE at level 6 pushes the voltage up from what it is set in bios.
Use level 4 if you want to have the same voltage as in bios.
I currently have same vcore on a z68xp ud4 @ 4.5 ghz,
still trying to find stable.

If it helps you in any way i am now 12 hours stable with the above mentioned settings. May be a tad high on the voltage so might try for 4.6ghz to justify it a bit more but still stable and under 1.4 volts and that's what counts right!
