cmos error after cpu upgrade..no post

I have done two bios updates since I built the system. 1st update was threw the bios, 2nd update was threw asus AI suite.

No problems encountered, been running for months...

I decided on new cpu (phenom II x4 960t)...installed new cpu...rebooted with one ram stick...no post along with a red light on the boot device led...cleared cmos...rebooted ...similar issue...fired rog connect using a laptop, rog connect detects cpu, ram, and load vga bios fine but takes long on initial ROM and ultimately hangs on "CMOS ERROR" ...system continues running...no display...tried jumper battery method to clear cmos...still the same error along the red light boot device led. tried booting with only cpu, ram and anything else disassembled...still the same!!!

Swapped back to phenom 720...no post...followed the same steps as mentioned above...no luck...same issue.

I am frustrated... i doubt it is a cpu issue as system was working before with the 720. I tried switching bios using tweakit bios flashback...both bios give same error...I tried updating bios to 9913 threw tweakit...it says "incorrect bios file"

any advice!!!!

Try the support cd recovery method ;

375

Note ; This will put you back to the original bios the MB came with.

Good luck

Hmm this is a tricky one....

Sounds like your Bios is corrupted....can you reload it with a newer or older BIOS?

I second that as well. It doesn't take any bios file..it errors out saying "incorrect bios file" and that is using rog connect tweakit.

Gyro thank you for your suggestion...it has worked beautifully and I managed to flash with a new bios. Also, I now have fully unlocked the 6th core. However, I can't boot into my drive with windows 7 on it...i get a blue screen memory dump and reboots...tried safe mode...the same....even when I did a fresh install of windows....I now get a quick blue screen and reboots!! cant tell what the problem is ???

Did you apply more cpu volts after unlocking?
It may be that the unlocked cores are not stable.
