Gaming rig questions

Thread Starter
So I have a AMD athlon II X2 220, an ATI Radeon 3000 and 4gb of ram. Its just the factory default stuff. I can play most games at normal settings, but Payday and Magicka run at fairly low fps. I just want to know what I should do to make games run faster in time for SW:tOR.

Get a better graphics card. A Radeon 3000 is terrible.

check your motherboard. if it's AM2+ you can use any AM3 CPU, like the current phenom x6's. if your mobo is am2 then you're best off buying a new computer. also get a dedicated graphics card.

This may not be viable solution because a lot of modern gpus are going to bottleneck his cpu.

Do you have enough money to make a new system? I can recommend some parts for you.

Easy then.

Grab a 955 proc

then a 6870/560 ti/6970

You are good to go.

What kind of psu do you have? Was that build a pre-built or custom build?

That mobo is out of a compaq/HP. Save your money and build a new PC. Use the same hard drive and dvd burner. I can look up possible PC parts that will fit ur 400 dollar budget if ud like. band.gif
