Got a 1090t

Well got my 1090t earlier this week been messing around with this is the best I could get it at

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2108631

For some reason this is the best it will do. Anything over 3.8 and it wont be stable even with 1.55v going through it. I was really wishing for 4.0ghz. It ain't so bad 3.8ghz with only 1.43v so its nice and cool. I've tried baby stepping it up and just plain throwing 4ghz ain't but it just wont stabilize. Also something I noticed was at 4ghz w/ 1.5v it wasn't prime or F@H stable but I could game for hours without a crash. Played Skyrim and BF3 for about 8 hours straight 4 of each and it and it never crashed.

I was happy to get my ram back up to speed kinda noticed a difference from 1333 to 1600 now i gotta tweak the timeings a bit and I should be all done.

you should be able to get at least 4.0 on your setup. when it crashes, what is it doing, blue screen or freeze or shut down? i've had a 965, 970, and two 1090s at or above 4.0 with lesser boards and cooling than you have, so i'm confident we can get it up there with a little work.

edit: just checked out your cpuz validation, and saw your fsb was 2160, you want to try to keep it between 2000 and 2100, anything above gets really unstable.

Ah must have missed that cant believe i did will change that now.

When it crashes i get a bunch of random colored lines across the screen then it BSODS something about a win32uk.exe or something like that. But thats what Im getting is BSODS. I would get it stable @ 4ghz in windows and hell even do a few hours of prime95 the BSODS usually happend anywhere in the 5 to 8 hour mark.

My 1090t loves the multiplier. I have it stable on 4.2 using only the multiplier and a few small tweaks here and there.

You can get 4.2/4.3GHz with this cooler and board. Your board has 8+2 phase power ideal for x6 overclocking.

Yeah thats why I got it had a X2 unlocked @ 4ghz 1.47v I know I could of pushed more on so I know the board overclocks well.

All those settings seem good. As leafan101 said, use the multiplier instead of upping the ref clock.

Yeah thats what I thought I've tried both the HT and just the multi overclocking and for some reason anything over 3.8ghz and I gotta throw mass amounts of voltage at it to get it some what stable. I'm thinking a weak core maybe. Funny thing is a got a 1090t about 3 weeks back from newegg had to RMA do to a core failing a 24 hour prime at stock settings. 6th core kept crashing. So I got this one in. Haven't had a core crash yet but I'm thinking its just a mediocre overclocker. I usually never buy CPU's from newegg because I've bought a few from them now and they always seem to be duds for me.

Even at a 200HT and just using the multi to get it to 4ghz it isn't stable.
