ordered 2600K is it too much powerfull? should i get the 2500K and put the money (130USD) on more ram? 8GB now vs 16GB?.

I know that the most difference is the HT on the 2600K but im not sure how much il use it (some of my progz are HT enabled but not allot - is it big difference?).

what do you think? what to pick there?

What are you planning to do with ur computer?

If you can afford it you might as well go for it, it will help the resale value later. Though if money is tight you might as well get the 2500k it is not much different besides the fact it has a bit less cache and no ht.

I just ordered the i5 2500k but all I really do is game and home work. Unless you do a lot of rendering or multithreaded apps go with the 2500k. Only difference is L3 cache, HT, and stock clock higher. Both overclock about the same. Save the extra money for a GPU for even Ivy Bridge.

Keep the i7 then if you were just gaming the i5 is no different but a few of those things you will notice a difference in.
