First time WCing -- Need advice

First things first:
I have never done a WC setup before, any suggestions will be appreciated. Assume i know nothing about WC.
This will be a GPU only loop - the CPU will either be cooled by an H80 or added to the loop later.
This will be external, my case isn't great for WC and I don't want a new one.
The front of the DF 85 WILL NOT fit a 360mm rad, don't ask.
My budget is around $300-$400.
I will be getting this for Christmas, now now.
I might do a build log on this, tell me if you would like to see one.

These are the parts that i am looking at right now:
Pump - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/6073/ex-pmp-53/Danger_Den_DD-CPX1_12V_3-Pin_Powered_Pump_-_DD-CPX1.html

Res - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9540/ex-res-153/Danger_Den_RAD-Reservoir_Internal_External_Liquid_Cooling_Reservoir_RES-005.html#blank

Radiator - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11759/ex-rad-122/Phobya_XTREME_Quad_480_Radiator.html?tl=g30c95s667

GPU Block - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14353/ex-blc-997/XSPC_Razor_nVidia_GTX_590_Full_Coverage_VGA_Block_-_Reference_Design.html#blank
I chose this one for the pre cut vrm pads, this is non-negotiable.

Tubing - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/8664/ex-tub-456/25_Meter_8_feet_Feser_Tube_Active_UV_Hose_-_Retail_Packed_-_38_ID_12OD_Anti-Kink_Tubing_-_UV_Red.html?tl=g30c99s171
I like this for the red, it goes well with the case.

4x Fans for radiator - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10457/fan-687/Yate_Loon_120mm_x_25mm_Fan_-_Open_Chassis_D12SL-12.html?tl=g36c15s60

1x 3 Pin extension for pump - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812200855

All the parts from frozen cpu come with these - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/5480/koo-71/Koolance_38_x_12_10mm_x_13mm_ID_G14_Threaded_Nozzles_Pair_NZL-V10.html

PT Nuke - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11744/ex-liq-154/IandH_Dead-Water_Copper_Sulfate_Biocidal_PC_Coolant_Additive.html

Kill coil - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11441/ex-tub-705/IandH_Silver_KillCoils_-_Antimicrobial_999_Fine_Silver_Tubing_Reservoir_Strip.html

Bump.
Everything looks fine.
Are you sure you want those fans? If you're on a budget I'm sure Yate Loons would be a lot better than those CM fans and wouldn't break the budget.
Compression fittings are a barb with a compression ring on it, so you're fine.
Any build log is fun to watch! So have at it! biggrin.gif

BTW I dont know much about that pump. I cant find how much PSI it pushes out, but someone might come along and clear up that info for me. Regardless you're not running multiple gpu blocks, so you're fine on that point as well.

You wouldnt need to buy a closed loop for your cpu. your rad would handle the gpu and the cpu no problem

I'll check out the Yate loon's, but I've noticed they all have a 3 pin and a molex, which do I plug in? Or both?

Choose one or the other. Most likely you'll be using the 3-pin.

Plug in the Molex if you want them to run 100% all the time. With a 3 pin, you should be able to control the speed of the fans with a fan controller or software.

Great, I'll just use the molex and cut out the 3 pin extenders and splitters.
