Stick with GTX 460 SLI or return one 460 and get a 580 lighting?? - Page 2

No need to waste a 460 on physx. I'd rather have the 580 than two 460s.

By the way, CF/SLI setups do NOT add VRAM. The cards are a mirror of each other, meaning that the VRAM of one card is still the total VRAM available for use.

Its because the gtx460 are crappy Galaxy 768Mb vram models

If you can afford it, you guys should go for the 6950 2gb crossfire. It's great performance and 2gb of vram is relatively future proof at the moment.

In my opinion, the performance gain will not justify the upgrade cost (considering 460s 1GB SLI are on par with a 580). Also, AMD 7000 will be out in the next month or two and probably kepler as well. Just be a little more patient. biggrin.gif

I am thinking of keeping my 460 and buying a 580 to go with it. But not really for gaming, but mainly for BOINC.

But for gaming, I would keep the dual 460s. Unless you are having real problems with them.

Do they still sell the Toxic edition 6950's that unlock to 6970's?? Cuz they only have the dirt edition now on newegg. And ya Im thing two 6950's unlocked will yield better performance than a single 580 3gb??
