Hey guys I was wondering what test should i run to find out if my temps are to high. Small FFT or Large FFT in Prime95; the reason why im asking is because I'll be playing a game or just idling and my pc will freeze up. My overclock is at 2.88ghz and my voltage is at 1.30. So help me out here fellas because this is extremely annoying.

thanks !!!

You shouldn't Vcore for 2.88GHz. What was the stock voltage (everything @ auto, CPU-Z)?

EDIT: After looking at your motherboard, I noticed you had an nVidia board. Try raising the NB voltage, I hear you need to supply more or else memory voltage doesn't work properly sometimes.

Here partner use this Intel overclocking guide to learn, its what i used to understand how to overclock.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1567/intel-overclocking-guide

As far as the Q9400 the most i was able to get out of her was 3.4GHz., This is with the core volts on auto. I managed to hit 3.6GHz with tweaking the volts.
