You're not alone though, I eventually stopped playing as (for me) it's more effort than it's worth practicing, knowing all the builds, counters, cheeses etc.

I have tried all 3 races and I feel the most comfortable with terran. Right now im trying to practice against the computer on medium difficulty and it beats me every time. getting there though.

I also was losing to medium AI (always play Terran). A friend of mine showed me a few strats though. Like using barracks to block the entrance. My strategy for "hard" AI is to get lots of marauders/marines as quick as possible and then after the AI shows up for attack keep sending wave after wave into the enemy base, not letting them expand or recover.

Don't worry about factories and starports etc. and all that just keep building more and more barracks to keep up the waves of marines/marauders. Some people add in those med ships, i can do it without. I think this called a "bio ball". I'm finding it difficult to get really hardcore into this game though. In fact I hardly play online at all (still have like 30 practice league matches left smile.gif )

Force does some easy to follow strats. Just look in the playlists. He is a terran player himself so that is a good bet. If your just starting out just practice macro. If youve got good macro you can usually steamroll people in lower leagues. http://www.youtube.com/user/ForceSC2strategy

Don't even think about strategy... Pick a race. Pick an opening build order that is viable in all 3 matchups and learn it. Then practice your macro.

You can make it to mid-gold-ish without knowing anything about the game if you just macro well, build an army and a-move it towards your opponent.

I'm not sure if this advice will help any but as a Terran (or any other race for that matter) I like to think that there is a list that I must check off to remind myself:

1. Am I making a worker?
2. Am I making units?
3. Should I be expanding?
4. How should I counter the opponent?
5. Should I be attacking/putting pressure/be on the offensive?

Key to a strong player is a strong economy in my opinion, I'm micro-heavy and lack the macro, but I still believe that if your economy is weak then you're fighting an uphill battle.

EDIT: Outside of that list is just reactionary steps such has what happens in the battle.
